UNT Dallas Rising Blazers is pleased to announce that it has partnered with three new providers to better serve youth in South Dallas and Oak Cliff.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas, For Oak Cliff, and YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas are now working with Rising Blazers to provide programs and resources to students and their families in the four critical ZIP codes of 75210, 75241, 75216, and 75215.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas (BGCD) is one of the leading youth-serving organizations in North Texas, positively impacting over 8,700 children ages 6-18. Programs are based on the intellectual, physical, and social needs of youth. They, enhance character and self-esteem, are educational and fun, and contribute to youth fulfilling their potential. Programming is offered in the three core areas of Academic Success, Good Character and Citizenship, and Healthy Lifestyles.
For Oak Cliff is a culturally-relevant organization serving the South Oak Cliff community. For Oak Cliff offers community programs in the areas of education, advocacy, community building, and the arts. For Oak Cliff believes in 2-Gen, so they focus on creating opportunities for and addressing the needs of both children and the adults in their lives together with the aim of increasing social mobility and social capital.
The YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas is a nonprofit organization serving almost 200,000 people annually via programs, outreach, and events throughout Collin, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Hopkins, Palo Pinto, and Rockwall counties. Through 16 YMCA facilities, 2 camps, and hundreds of program sites, the Y’s work is felt throughout the community daily. The Y’s mission is to put Christian values into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.
